After growing up and starting his education in the Midwest, Derek moved to The Pacific Northwest to finish up his BA Degree in Sustainable Design at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. Finding opportunity in Austin, TX. Derek started a business making custom furniture and sculptural lighting. His designs draw inspiration from the natural environment combined with his attention to detail and design concepts in sustainability. Utilizing his experience building custom furniture and these design beliefs, he is able to enhance his role as an architectural designer with the latest modeling software. In his free time, you will find Derek in his woodshop, backpacking, or stream fishing in the Rocky Mountains.
